Strong Americano: Use a 1:1 ratio, which means equal parts espresso and hot water.
e.g. 40 grams espresso and 40 grams hot water

Inbetween Americano: Use a 1:1.5 ratio, which means one part espresso and 1.5 parts hot water. e.g. 40 grams espresso and 60 grams hot water

Mild Americano: Use a 1:2 ratio, meaning one part espresso to two parts hot water.
 e.g. 40 grams espresso and 80 grams hot water
